Mission
|
To
enhance and accredit the cohesiveness, esprit de corps, and traditions of valor
of rotary wing aircrews that flew in Southeast Asia during the Vietnam Era. T o seek out, using whatever means available, individuals who piloted rotary
wing aircraft in Southeast Asia during the Vietnam era and inform them of the
existence of the VHPA and encourage all eligible individuals to become members.
Membership is open to all helicopter pilots who flew in Southeast Asia during
the Vietnam era (1961-1975). |

The Washington State Chapter of the Vietnam Helicopter Pilots
Association (VHPA) was founded in September, 2000 by Jack Salm, Jr. It
holds regular meetings in Washington state including sites on both sides
of the Cascades. |
Next Meeting
|
Our next meeting will be held on June 8th at the Olympia Airport. Note
the new date. It's still being held at the Glacier Aviation Hanger but
does NOT coincide with the Olympia Air Show. The
Eastern-Washington meeting will be held in September (as detailed
below).
Members with a topic for chapter consideration in the meeting agenda

The chapter will be meeting in Spokane at 10:30 AM on September 21,2013
at the Timber Creek Grill Buffet, 9211 East Montgomery Ave. Spokane,

This organization is making a presentation at the national VHPA

We've received as special request from a group of
veterans planning a "ride-in" on July 3rd to escort the
Traveling Vietnam Memorial Wall. For details,
click here.

The chapter coordinated the
retirement of CW4 Joseph Long's retirement after 44 years of service.
He's the oldest helicopter pilot to serve in Vietnam.
