 The
Washington State Chapter of the Vietnam Helicopter Pilots Association held their
May 2003 meeting at Naval Station Everett. After a great lunch under the chapter
banner in the building 2025 galley, the members toured the base in trail
formation—but this time in a tight formation of their own cars.
The business meeting was held at the Navy Community Center building. At 13:20
Jack Salm, the Chapter President, opened the meeting and gave the Treasure’s
report (in his absence). The Secretary pointed out that the newsletter and
meeting minutes are available on the web (but the site has not been completed).
Names and current information were gathered so that Jack Salm could produce the
annual membership roster.
Mike Brown suggested that we as an organization participate in the Auburn
Veterans Day Parade this year and that we order caps and T-shirts with the
appropriate VHPA insignia so we are all uniformly dressed for this special
occasion. The caps and shirts would be purchased with some of the funds from the
WA chapter account for those attending the parade. Jack Salm will coordinate the
sizes and orders for the people who will sign up & participate in this event.
Mike and Pat will look around for the VHPA banner that was used last time for
this parade and return the banner to Jack Salm to display at our next meeting.
