Meeting Minutes

Vietnam Helicopter Pilots Association

 Meeting & Briefing at Veterans Day Parade, Auburn, WA.

 Subject: Minutes of business meeting and other notes of interest.

The meeting was 10:00 to 10:20.

1.             Dick Glasgow welcomed us to the veteran’s parade and our meeting beside the towed Huey we marched beside during the parade. Dick welcomed our new chapter president, Chris Farwell who will plan the next meeting. Dick welcomed new member Bob Brown and member A.Wayne Maskowski’s & wife Susan to the parade and meeting. 

2.             Again this year a big thank you to Skip Blaksley for towing the Olympia Flight Museum static Huey in the parade. This is not a simple task and does require time and expense, so be sure to at least give Skip a “thank you” the next time you see him.

3.             Dick thanked all the past presidents and others who helped this year during his tenure as president. A special thanks to Pat Staeheli for his work on this parade organization.

4.             Mention was made about sight seeing tours to Viet Nam and to contact Bob Burk – Director of King Co. airport for information.

Old Business:

1.       Skip Blaksley treasures’ reported we are doing well with over $5000 and to expect the membership renewals to be mailed out soon.
2.       No minuets of the meeting at Olympia Airport. Secretary was not there.

 New Business:

3. Jack Salm talked about the ‘T’ shirts and a logo and your comments. Jack also asked for our comments/ideas about a chapter trailer or vehicle to take supplies to VA National retirement homes in the area. More ideas are welcomed.
4. The next meeting will be in February and Mr. Barbar, a VA representative will be the guest speaker.
5. Bill Vaughn says the chapter web site is updated and your stories are welcomed. Note: there is a local article on there now.
6. Meeting concluded.

1. Visit & use the organization web site for photos, notices and send in your story.
